They are more like a music family than a rock band – how many people were on stage during the last gig? 18 maybe? “The Absurd” was founded by my good friend Michael Frank (main composer and guitarist) about 30 years ago. Their pieces contain lots of free improvisation, but also polyrhythmic rock structures or complex jazz themes – and usually, sheer madness. I play guitar in this band and contribute a few pieces.
