In 2000, Rick Walker started to organize annual international livelooping festivals in Santa Cruz, CA, featuring dozens of musicians every time that use livelooping as their main technique. A growing number of these artists followed Rick’s idea and organized similar livelooping festivals in other places in America, Europe, and Asia.

I organized the first international livelooping festival in Cologne in 2008.
Two more festivals in Cologne followed in 2011 and 2013.

Each festival featured 10 livelooping acts (mostly soloists) who played for 30 minutes each. The stylistic variety was very wide, from ambient to free jazz to electronic experiment to psychedelic rock …
