  • From Strange to Impossible
    "Interactive Attractor Music" by Michael Peters, in Contemporary Music Review, Volume 29, released in July 2011. My article about the story behind the algorithmic music CD "Impossible Music", complete with one of my Gumowski-Mira images on the front cover and another one in the article.
  • Livelooping Italy
    I played at the 4th International Livelooping Festival in Florence, Italy (see video) and then spent a week in Rome with Fabio Anile starting work on a new duo album of ambient music.
  • My slide scanner gets listeners in Australia
    "Sound is Art" curator Margaret Noble gets interviewed on Australian radio and plays some of my sound art clips, such as the slide scanner or the Barbados tree frog, as well as Matthias's funny massage chair
  • Livelooping the Helios Tower
    Two weeks before the Florence festival, the 10th Treppenhauskonzert in Renee Blume's Kunstraum at the Helios Tower in Cologne (this time, featuring me as the only musician) was more like a public rehearsal - almost without an audience, but I enjoyed myself.   • Livelooping Festival in April
    The 2nd Cologne Livelooping Festival was successfully held on April 2nd, 2011. The website (all information in German) has all information about the musicians, and a short but nice radio feature containing interviews and music.

  • Binaural Sounds
    Massimo Liverani has released an ambient album with binaural theta frequencies, to be listened to with headphones. The album contains an unreleased Michael Peters track and can be downloaded for free.

  • Sessions with Matthias Ebbinghaus
    Matthias and me met a couple of times between 2001 and 2009 to make music together - just jamming without any plans. This download album contains 75 minutes, or 22 tracks, of what we came up with over the years. Enjoy!

  • The Absurd in Heliosturm Cologne
    The Absurd (well, some members of them, including myself) played an improvised sound evening in the Heliosturm, an abandoned industry light tower in Cologne. We placed ourselves on different stories of the staircase and tried to play together. Don't know about the musical value of what happened but as you can tell from the Youtube video, we had fun

  • The Absurd Webcast
    Michael Frank's The Absurd performed live on Sunday, 18th of July at 6pm (Berlin time) in a Berlin recording studio. The Absurd is a band founded in the autumn of 1984 in Cologne. It has a constantly rotating line-up led by Michael Frank. Now they continued their celebration of their silver jubilee with 16 musicians in the Andere Baustelle studio with songs about the flying Robert and riding elevators in a mixture of hard rock, free jazz and psychedelia.

  • Rainy Loop for Kim Flint
    Kim was the co-inventor of the Echoplex Digital Pro and the founder of the Loopers Delight web community that means so much to many liveloopers around the world. He was tragically killed in a bicycle accident. Here's a rainy loop video that I made for him

  • Y2K9 Livelooping the West Coast
    This year's Y2K9 International Live Looping Festival in Santa Cruz, California, finally contained some Michael Peters performances - I felt very honored to be listed as a headliner on top of the list of ca. 60 livelooping acts that played on the world's largest annual livelooping event which saw its 8th installment this year. "October 14-20, 2009 - 56 artists from 9 countries in 6 days in 3 cities"
    I played on stages in San Jose, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz. More here

  • Golden Parachute CD presentation
    Markus Apitius presented his new solo CD Golden Parachute at Dinnerclub, Cologne, on Friday Sept 11. I played along on some of the pieces.
    As the previous CDs, the new CD contains a mix of various styles of songwriting. I play a solo (that I am proud of) during the climax of the 13 minute progressive/Canterbury influenced opus maximus called "Epiphany 74", a piece about an unusual day in the life of SF writer Philip K. Dick.
